PlayStation Portable junkies of United States and Europe should rejoice as Sony has officially announced during a summit in San Francisco that their new PlayStation Vita will be hitting these markets on February 22, 2012. To refresh your memory, the PS Vita is packed with a 5-inch OLED touchscreen, two analog sticks, an ARM Cortex A9 processor, a rear touchpad, and much more.

The WiFi-only model will be priced at $349, while the AT&T 3G-enabled version can be purchased for an extra $50. Still no mention of data pricing, but it is expected to be similar to AT&T's tablet data tiers: $15 for 200MB and $25 for 2GB.

If you think waiting for February is excrutiating, you can grab the Japanese version once it is released in December.
