Volkswagen Unveils Nils Electric Car Concept

Volkswagen presents its electric vehicle concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which they call the Nils. What makes this car stand out is the sheer smallness of it because, apparently, VW envisions this car for the commuters of tomorrow. We guess this would go well in third world countries or in places where obesity is never an issue.

The Volkswagen Nils has an itty-bitty 25 kilowatts (34 horsepower) of power, which it harnesses from a rear-mounted electric motor. Apart from being small, this car is also light at 460 kilograms (1,000 pounds) and can run for up to 65 kilometers (40 miles) in a single battery charge. The inside of the Nils is minimalistic, with climate dials on the right side, an LCD dashboard, and buttons on the steering wheel to adjust media player volume, answering calls, and setting the car into automatic cruise mode that keeps the car at distance with vehicles ahead and brakes automatically if the driver fails to do so.
