Twine Wireless Interactive Module

Wouldn't it be nice to have a device that will inform you by text or email when something happens somewhere? It would be good to have a text or an email sent to you if your laundry's done or just an alert in case your basement gets flooded when you are away. People with enough knowledge in hardware and programming can easily make a device for themselves to do these kinds of things. But for those who do not, the Twine Wireless Interactive Module would do just fine.
The Twine is a simple yet promising device being introduced in Kickstarter. This handy device is a durable 2.5 inch square that does more than how it looks. It comes featured with sensors such as one for internal temperature, an accelerometer, a magnetic switch, a moisture sensor and a breakout board to easily connect additional sensors. It is also a wireless module that comes with a cloud-based service and can connect to any WiFi hotspot.
But what makes Twine so unique as a device is that it can be used or programmed to execute a variety of commands. Users can use a simple interface to input the commands they want the device to execute using simple natural language. It does not require complicated programming language for a user to set up. It can be as simple as putting in simple rules as guided by the software it comes with using its different sensors to determine a certain instance where it can send an alert via text, email and even on Twitter or any other configurable request online. The Twine is something that might be quite new and yet may have several interesting uses for everyday life. You can check it out at Kickstarter to know more about it.
