Samsung and Verizon have announced its latest Android-based smartphone. The Samsung Illusion runs on Android 2.3 and features a 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird Application processor, 3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, 2Gb of storage, mobile hotspot capability, six-axis accelerometer with compass, social networking apps, and all that stuff you expect from the latest 3G Android handset.
Samsung even brags that its Illusion earns a score of 84 out of 119 points from The Underwriters Laboratories, which provides high UL ratings to environmentally-sound gadgets. Its rear casing and battery cover are made from 70% post-consumer material, while the front casing has 35% post-consumer material. Even its packaging is from recycled paper and printed with vegetable ink.
The Samsung Illusion is available on Verizon Wireless online store beginning November 23 for $79.99 with a two-year contract, but you can get yours for free (still with that contract) between November 24 and 28.
