One of the instances that can damage a surfboard is constant transport. Bringing your board from one surfing location to another offer some opportunities for it to get scratched, chipped or bumped out of shape. It is always important to consider putting your surfboard in its own bag. This will help keep it protected from damage that usually happens as it is being transported to and from the beach. Storing your surfboard properly can also help prevent doing some damage to it. Many surfboards have been damaged just by leaving it standing on a wall with other people accidentally bumping on it. A crack left unrepaired can cause water to leak into the inner foam that can cause yellowing and delamination of the board. The water may also add some weight into your board that may lower its performance later on. It is always important to check your board for cracks or unseen dents.
