Measuring an Employee's Value

An organization is made up of both the owners as well as the employees. People are being hired for specific jobs and are paid for it. An organization would not function well with only the heads working but the performance of its workers is also one of the key components in the growth and success of the company.

As employees, we often shy away with the thought of asking for a raise. It seems awkward to ask our boss out front for a higher salary package. Nonetheless, it is best to know that more employers have realized the importance of their workers for they are renting a performance. They are renting a set of skills, abilities, talents, and time.

Like any other investments, they understand the concept of a fair trade and that renting performance does take a price. With this in mind, asking for a salary raise is an advantage on the employees' end as long as one's request is reasonable, which too will benefit the company.
