Job Search Advice

How to Get the Most of Recruitment Agencies

Individual differences spell what a perfect job is. We thus say that "perfect job" is subjective; the perfect job for you may not be the perfect job for me. Purposive of snagging the employment that we want, be it for financial pursuits, career advancement, or what-not, we try to get other people to intervene on our favor.

Recruiters, sometimes referred to as headhunters, are the ones responsible in endorsing us to the higher-ups of a corporation so that we may fill a job, a position, or a vacancy. In exchange for what these people are doing to advance our careers, the least we can do is to work hand-in-hand in with them.

Below are a list of tips that we can follow in order to make the most out of our experiences with our recruiters. Plus, these tips will also double our chances of bagging the job we've always wanted.

Be inquisitive

Dare to ask questions. Inquire after the recruiter's experience level, client base, and area of expertise. Having pertinent information at hand is always the best way to go.

Exercise

Treat you recruiters with an ounce or two of professionalism. Remember, recruiters are your very first point of contact or entry into a company.

Stuck? I think not.

Working with more than one recruiter is advisable, although it is best to limit yourself to two, or maybe three recruiters at most so there are less chances of having multiple recruiters endorsing you to the same client.

Don't Beat Around the Bush

Get to the point. Be straight with your recruiter because he or she cannot guess what you have in mind. Say yes when you mean yes and no when you mean no. There's nothing worse than a person who cannot assert what he or she really wants.

Do Not Bypass

Yes, that's right. Otherwise, you'll be headed for trouble. If the recruiter has already presented your information to the client, and then you contact the client, the chances of you getting the job you really want will be really slim. Piece of advice: Learn to wait and to follow the correct procedures.
