Cheap Decor Ideas for Your Living Room Walls

ad space

Your living room walls are boring but you don't have the extra cash to liven things up. Fortunately cool and interesting wall decorations need not come at a price.

Frames

Frames are an inexpensive décor idea for your living room wall. Visit your local thrift store and pick up frames in different sizes and shapes.

Bits and Pieces

Decorate your frames with fringe, braid or pieces of anything, such as lace from an old blouse or even stray strands from your old pompom.

Paper

If you have no paintings or photos to display, frame a piece of paper. It could be a saved gift wrapper, or fabric remnants that have nice patterns, or even colorful place mats. Visit your dollar store or perhaps your own closet or drawer to find some pieces to frame.

Chalkboards

Arrange an assortment of chalkboards on your living room wall. They're a nice place to put up our kids' art, messages, reminders, etc. You may find cheap chalkboards (again) at your local thrift store, or you can raid you child's old toys' storage.

Paint

If you really can't think of anything to put in your frames, paint them in coordinating colors and hang them on the wall in groups.

Records

Pick up some dusty old vinyl records from your thrift shop or from your old storage box and frame them. They give a nice feel, like you're a recording artist or a record label executive.

Used Canvases

Buy some old canvases from your dollar store. Spray paint the whole thing in black or white and decorate in the style of your choice.
