Early Bird Thanksgiving Preparation
Preparation is the perfect way of having a great Thanksgiving. Doing things ahead of time will provide you a way on how you want to spend your holiday.
In doing some preparation, it is best that you make a timeline. With this, you can be even more organized and have enough time to relax for the big day.
Below are ways on how to do just that. Just follow this weekly timeline countdown:
On the first week of November
- If you are planning to watch productions for the holiday, order tickets now to avoid disappointments.
- Likewise, for travel arrangements, book your flights as early as possible.
- Make indoor and outdoor decorations.
- Create menu plans as well as a list for the guests or Thanksgiving dinner.
On the second week of November
- Know what meals your guests may bring for Thanksgiving. This way, you can cross out any of those similar dishes on your list.
- Create cards. Buy stamps from your post office so you can send those holiday greeting cards to your friends.
- Make cookie dough and have them frozen in the fridge. This way, all you need is bake them.
On the third week of November
- Furnish your outdoor decorations so it will make your guests feel welcome.
- Clean your home and wash your windows. This way, you will be free of any chores to do on the final preparation.
- Order fresh turkey from your local butcher. Do not opt for a frozen one.
- Buy all Thanksgiving groceries that you need so you can be prepared as early as possible.
On the fourth week of November
- Be ready for your house guests.
- Include all the important though small stuff for your Thanksgiving menu, namely, the butter for the rolls or the cream and sugar for the coffee.
- Assign tasks for family members. This will make sure that everyone will participate.
- Plan everything, from serving wares to which silverware you will use.
- Do some finishing touches for your indoor decorations.
On the final week before Thanksgiving
- Do a general cleaning for your house.
- Purchase all the ingredients you need for your menu. Prepare them as early as possible. Make sure all the ingredients you bought are fresh.
- On the day before Thanksgiving, bake your favorite pie.
- Finally, prepare your Thanksgiving turkey. You can use your own traditional recipe or create your own.
