How to Get Great Nails
As with all beauty regimens, you will be able to improve the way you look and the way sother people look at you whenever you treat yourself to one.
It is important that you always take care of your appearance because you'll exude more confidence and essentially feel better about yourself. So if you've already brushed your hair a hundred times and already put on your makeup, what's left? Now is the time you look at your nails.
Having well-manicured nails is an important part of a polished and savvy appearance. You will be able to work this to your advantage especially in the corporate world. However, there are a lot of old wives' tales and myths out there that seem to corrupt the minds of women both young and old and it's about time that those false tales be dispelled. Here are some tips from the experts on how to properly take care of your nails.
Leave your cuticles as they are.
Most women are into the habit of cutting or maybe manipulating the cuticles in their nails. Whether they have their nails done professionally or you cut them yourself, you should keep in mind to leave your cuticles alone. This part of your nail is a built-in barrier to fungus and bacteria. Once you take that out, the protection will be nonexistent.
If you touch your cuticle or cut it, you will end up making them red, inflamed and worn out. You'll eventually do permanent damage to your cuticles if you get an infection because of the breaching of the nail bed. So even though you'd like to make your nails look neater by manipulating the cuticles, you would be better off not doing that.
Use nail hardeners sparingly-or not at all.
The bottom line is nail hardeners do more damage to your nails than good. You should remember that these particular products have never been studied clinically at all so most of the claims that these products have are essentially not verified by scientific research. Unless your nails are significantly weak or fragile, there's really no benefit from putting these chemicals on your precious nails.
Remember that bendable nails are healthy nails. It only makes sense that you keep them that way in order for them not to break. Nail hardeners do quite the opposite and make them brittle. Stay on the safe side and keep your nails intact.
