How To Create Painted T-Shirts For Kids

ad space

Your kids are active, creative, and always express themselves. Try harnessing their artistic side by making easy-to-do personalized t-shirts for your kids. All they need are stamps, paint, and lots of imagination.

Materials

Solid colored t-shirt or tank top
Cardboard, small enough to fit in the shirt
Fabric paint or acrylic paint
Stamps of different shapes
Fabric paint tubes

Directions

If the shirt is brand new, wash and dry to make the fabric soft. Avoid using fabric conditioner.

Lay the shirt on a flat surface.

Insert the cardboard in the shirt to keep the paint from seeping through to other side. Use more than one piece if needed.

Choose a stamp shape and, using a paint brush, paint the stamp with selected color. You can buy different stamps at discount department stores or craft supply stores.

Place the painted side of the stamp on the shirt and gently press it down.

Carefully lift the stamp off of the shirt. Repeat the process if you want more stamps.

Continue the process using different shapes and colors.

To write words on the shirt, you can use letter stamps or with tube fabric paint.

You can also use tube fabric paint to outline some of the shapes, creating a 3D effect.

You can use paint brush and fabric paint to add some finishing touches.

Allow the shirt to dry completely.
