Work Regulations for Teens

The Fair Labor Standards Act of the U.S Department of Labor set the minimum age for employment at 14 years of age. Hence, children below the said minimum age of employment have no chances of being employed except when employed by their own parents and or guardians which are the only exception provided in the child labor law.

Excavation, driving and other power-driven equipment are only exclusive to citizens' with age 18 years old and above. Minors are prohibited to render service in a field of work which has been declared hazardous in nature. Mind that there are also limits in the number of hours that a minor can spend for work as per the Fair Labor Standards Act.
