Biography

Slaughter is a hard rock, heavy metal band that hails from Las Vegas, Nevada. It is headed by lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Mark Slaughter along with bassist Dana Strum. They gained popularity during the early 90's with their debut album which spawned several hit singles.

Slaughter first formed in 1988 during the height of the glam metal era as seen on MTV and its popularity on rock radio. The band was formed after Mark Slaughter and Dana Strum left a previous band. The lineup was bolstered by lead guitarist Tim Kelly and drummer Blas Elias.

The band released their debut album, Stick It To Ya, that yielded three hit songs that found their way on the Billboard Hot 100. But unfortunately, the growing alternative music movement has slowly overtaken the mainstream at this time. The band was able to achieve success and their own time in the limelight. But this proved to be short lived.

But unlike other glam metal bands, Slaughter didn't fold up during the alternative music era and remained intact and produced new records. They released their second album, The Wild Life which came up with another hit song, "Real Love" and was able to reach Gold status. Slaughter continues to perform shows with other glam metal acts.
