Interaction between the online users and the administrator of the website is important once a certain website has built up its own loyal base of frequent visitors. An online community forum or discussion board can be beneficial because it allows better interaction between members. Not only that a forum allows discussions and information to be posted and stored in just one area where the members can get access to at any time. A forum also provides all members with a definite venue to go to whenever they feel the need to discuss certain matters and issues.

Active email list

An email list on the other hand is a specialized use of email to allow website administrators and owners with a more effective distribution of information to a certain base of online visitors. Just like a traditional mailing list, it can also contain certain personal information of each member such as their names and addresses. An email list usually makes use of special automated software programs in order to distribute information to those who are included in the list.

An email list allows websites to get in touch with its online client base on a personal level. Information that clients receive is sent to their personal emails or even gets mailed to their homes if required. Email lists are usually contain a more targeted audience that, to those who sell items and products online, can be very beneficial when it comes to getting in touch with a target audience.

But email lists may not be that effective in trying to promote interaction between fellow clients. Communication that happens usually only go through the website administrator to client route or vice versa. It may be more difficult for two clients or members to interact or communicate with each other through an email list.
