The network router ensures that information or data keeps flowing over the networks or ensures that computers are always connected into the Internet.

Computer users may need to have a network router if they wish to establish a Local Area Network or LAN. In homes such a network can be set up especially in cases where one wishes to connect several home computers in just a single Internet subscription.
