Dancing With The Stars is one of ABC's reality/competition shows.

A ballroom dancing competition, Dancing With The Stars sets the stage for the ultimate celebrity challenge.

Stars are paired with professional dancers and are trained to compete on live television.

Each celebrity-professional dancer pair is judged by the three house judges - Carrie-Ann Anaba, Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli, all of whom are dancers/choreographers.

Viewers can then vote for their favorite pair after each episode. The team with the least number of votes is eliminated the following night.

The winner receives a trophy and a check for their chosen charity.

Hosted by Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris, Dancing With The Stars airs evey Monday night at 8:00 pm EST. Results Show airs every Tuesday night at 9:00 pm EST.

Dancing With The Stars is the US version of UK's hit reality show Strictly Come Dancing.

The first season's winner was General Hospital star Kelly Monaco. She beat Seinfeld's John O'Hurley in the finals. A few months later, O'Hurley beat Monaco in a rematch.

Monaco was followed by former 98 Degrees singer Drew Lachey (Season Two), football legend Emmitt Smith (Season Three), Olympic gold medalist Apolo Anton Ohno (Season Four), race car driver Helio Castroneves (Season Five), and Olympic gold medalist figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi (Season Six).

Who dated and who didn't?

Cheryl Burke and Drew Lachey of the defunct boyband 98 Degrees were rumored to have had an affair. Both parties denied the rumors. Nick Lachey is married with kids.

Mario Lopez of Saved By The Bell fame and Karina Smirnoff really did date each other but have now broken up. Lopez is quoted as saying "I'd be honored to dance with Karina Smirnoff".

Sabrina Bryan of Disney's Cheetah Girls and Mark Ballas briefly dated during their stint at the reality show. They initially denies rumors of the relationship but eventually went public with it. The couple broke up recently due to the Cheetah Girl's hectic schedule.
