Transformers is a 2007 live action film that was adapted from a very popular robot animation series. The film was directed by Michael Bay and starred Shia LaBeuof, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Jon Voight and John Turturro. Hugo Weaving and Peter Cullen lent their voices for the computer generated robot main cast Megatron and Optimus Prime, respectively.

Plot

The film begins with a narration of the battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons out to find the All Spark, an energy cube that can be used to rebuild the Autobots' home planet Cybertron. The Decepticons fight for control of the All Spark by trying to find it to control the universe. Megatron was able to get hold of the All Spark but was frozen in the ice after crash landing in the Arctic Circle.

A crew of Arctic explorers headed by Captain Archibald Witwicky accidentally stumbled upon Megatron's body in 1897 which enalbed Megatron's navigational system for a brief moment, enough to imprint his location coordinates on the Captain's eye glasses. The All Spark however was recovered by the humans somewhere in the Colorado River and then hidden under the Hoover Dam to hide its energy emissions. The still frozen Megatron was also brought into the ultra-secretive facility called Sector 7 to be studied and used to advance human technology.

The Arrival

The next part of the story finds the Decepticons landing on Earth in an attempt to find Megatron. The robots disguised themselves as human vehicles and machines. Blackout, a Decepticon disguised as a military helicopter finds it way into a US military base in Qatar and attacked it in order to hack into the military computers. The attack alarmed the military and was able to cut of the connection to the military servers before all the information can be stolen.

The event led to the military finding answers to the reason behind the attack. It also led to the Autobots landing on Earth in hopes to find a descendant of Captain Witwicky, Sam (LeBeouf). The Autobots were hoping to find the coordinates for the All Spark imprinted on the Captain's eyeglasses, which Sam plans to sell on eBay. The effort leads to Sam meeting the Autobots and its leader, Optimus Prime and knowing about their mission.

The Climactic Battle

Sam decided to help the Autobots find the All Spark which is located in Sector 7. The race to look for the All Spark started between the Autobots and the Decepticons where Bumblebee, an Autobot, was able to find first. But this also led to Sector 7 agents capturing and holding Bumblebee captive. Bumblebee was still able to signal the other Autobots who went to rescue the captured Bumblebee, only to be thwarted by the Decepticons along the way. Sam was able to convince the agents from Sector 7 to give the All Spark to the Autobots and headed to Mission City.

The journey eventually led to an ensuing battle between the humans and Autobots against the Decepticons where the heroes able to defeat the villains by killing Megatron using the All Spark, which also destroyed the cube and destroyed the Autobot's hopes of ever reviving their home planet Cybertron.
