Batman Begins and, its sequel, The Dark Knight are the best that there is when it comes to superhero movies. Both directed by Christopher Nolan under Warner Brothers Co., this was based on a comic book series written by Bob Kane and Bill Finger.

Plot

Generally set in Gotham City, Batman Begins show how Bruce Wayne became the Batman. As he planned to avenge his parents' death-just as he had told Rachel Dawes, his childhood friend-he joined a group of exceptional vigilantes known as the League of Shadows.

From then on he was able to find his crime-fighting principles of not taking a life no matter how evil the individual may be. The League's leader, Ra's al Ghul-the person who wants to take down Gotham City, and the Scarecrow were among the enemies he gets to fight in this movie. Of course, he was able to stop both of them and save Gotham City.

On the other hand, in the Dark Knight, Batman gets to fight the Joker who has been creating mayhem all over Gotham City. There also sprung certain nemesis like Two Face, who was originally Harvey Dent, District Attorney of Gotham City.

On a plot conspired by the Joker, Rachel Dawes was killed and Dent was critically injured which later led him to become Batman's coin-tossing enemy. In the end, Batman was able to apprehend the Joker and had Two Face accidentally killed when they fell down as they confronted each other.

Production

There have been several changes done in the set. First was the redefining of the design of Batman's gadgetry and technological machines, plus the addition of a new fighting war vehicle called the BatPod.

The movie itself was based on the Batman comic book issue entitled Batman: The Long Halloween. The Richard J. Daley Center served as the building for Wayne Enterprises while the whole filming itself took place in Hong Kong and Chicago-the place where shooting Batman Begins took place.

Critical reception

All in all, both films garnered the favor of critics and scored highly in the Box Office. In comparison to the other Batman movies, this one has a more haunting tale of tragedy. It was not just well-made but well-delivered as well.

Box-office Achievement

Upon its opening, Batman Begins scored $205 million in U.S. Worldwide it earned $370 million. On the other hand, The Dark Knight grossed $523 million on U.S. alone and worldwide it earned $972 million.
