Batman Movie Director Christopher Nolan
In the industry of fiction and comic characters, it can be said that Batman reigns best among others. That is because if you try to think of it, Bruce Wayne is a superhero and an ordinary human being with an extraordinary wealth all at the same time. These are the alchemical formulas that give a practical sense into it.
Known for his movies such as the Memento and Insomniac, Christopher Nolan created these series straight from the images of a comic book, smeared with the stains of two realities-triumph and tragedy. What makes it even more fascinating is the fact that they reached a certain degree of becoming believable.
On a personal point of view, it is undeniable that Chris Nolan's Batman installment has been more popular than the others that preceded it. Perhaps it was the looks. Perhaps it was the trend. Or perhaps it was because of the dark tone and gritty atmosphere. I say I go for the last one. That is if we are not talking of the new Batmobile and other Bat-gadgetry.
The existentialist themes of both movies Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are so stark it reflects the vivid colors of real life. In a way, every aspect of humanity has been brought to light: anger and anguish, agony and tragedy, even morality and the absence of it.
In Batman Begins, Bruce Wayne, portrayed by Christian Bale, was confronted with the choice to kill a criminal. But with an exceptional discipline, he chooses not to. Not to mention that part when he fought his fear of bats. Philosophically speaking, it is a do or die thing.
Apparently, it was the same thing for the movie The Dark Knight-after the part when Harvey Dent lost his fiancée, Rachel Dawes. With the Joker convincing him to go on a rampage and kill those who did nothing to save his beloved, Dent went out and murdered both mafia members and police officers alike.
As we take a close look into it, everything has something to do with choice. The circumstance and other things involved within it, notwithstanding. Everything balls down into the truth that everyone has his or her path to choose. Just like what Bruce Wayne did. Just like what the Batman did.
