He became famous for the immense DC event, "Infinite Crisis" which was able to shape the DC continuity. One interesting fact about Geoff Johns was that he based his character "Stargirl" after his own sister who died in a plane crash in 1996.
Because Johns was a very good writer, he quickly made his reputation and became sort of the "go-to" guy for DC Comics. Johns began his own rise to DC stardom after he created the comic book series "Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E." One day, his big break came after co-writing.
He was able to write for the title Justice Society of America. He took a group of second string heroes such as the Golden Age Green Lantern and Flash, Dr. Fate and Black Canary and eventually turned them into a top tier comic book team.
One of his titles on the Green Lantern mini-series which was entitled "Rebirth" eventually gave John a wider fan base. The decision to bring back Hal Jordan as the original Green Lantern was a very delicate move that he made. However, Johns eventually pulled it off and made the Green Lantern a hot-selling comic.
As mentioned earlier, he is known for the "Infinite Crisis" event that happened in DC. This was a sequel to "Crisis on Infinite Earths" which was the mini-series that merged all of DC's garbled worlds into one unified universe. This was a smash hit according to the reviews, critics and the statistics. Because of this, Geoff Johns was able to cement his legacy in the DC universe.
Johns co-wrote the Spike TV television series, Blade, which originally aired during the summer of 2006. During the fall of 2006, Geoff Johns was able to write alongside Matthew Senreich of Robot Chicken fame to create a holiday movie entitled Naughty or Nice for Dimension films.
